Visit Lisbon’s Underground History
Paul here! This is a trip through the Núcleo Arqueológico da Rua dos Correeiros (NARC) which we’ve arranged in English. The NARC is maybe my favorite historic site in Lisbon; in the 1990s, when a bank bought a building to refurbish into their new headquarters downtown, they discovered a massive treasure trove of archaeology underneath, dating back thousands of years! Thankfully for us, they decided to turn it into a museum, but only lets a few people in at a time. If you’re into history, this is not to be missed.
Note: This trip involves some relatively dark and tight spaces; if you are claustrophobic this may not be for you, and if you are taller than, say, 5’4″, you will have to bend over in certain spots.
