No, we’ve not had a sudden religious conversion. Jesus é Goês is one of our favorite restaurants here in Lisbon. It’s Indian food, but probably unlike any other Indian food you’ve ever had. First off, the eponymous chef (of blessed memory) was Goan. Goa is coastal region of India that was colonized by the Portuguese until 1961. It produces a very different spin on Indian cuisine than you might be used to, including a lot of seafood dishes. And secondly, Sr. Jesus was something of an artist– remixing traditional Goan food with new techniques and ingredients. It’s a fantastic little place. We hope you’ll love it as much as we do!
